Firstly is the choice of stock used for the content spreads. The uncoated matte paper had visible dimples upon application of ink which gave a slightly rough look to the photos. This lowered the visual impact of the double page bleed. However this issue is only visible to this specific spread in the publication because of the amount of ink used. A coated but not glossy stock would be more appropriate to fully show the details of the image.
Secondly is the issue of double sided printing. Whilst the dimensions in InDesign were correct, when printing the alignment of the two spread were incorrect, causing folding issues and as a result visible tearing of the ink and showing of other pages.
Improving the overall finish a publication and knowledge of stock are areas that need to improve in the future in order to create a more professional and higher quality publication.
