The River Aire
The Aire is a significant attribute to the city's development. The river provided good to be carried along into the city for trade such as the cloth industry. The poster could illustrate this demonstrating its significance to the ever developing city.
On the other hand, in 2015, the river Aire burst its banks and flooded areas around Leeds. Through this way the poster could have a contrast between the rivers contribution to the city's development and the destruction it can cause on public spaces.

West Indian Carnival
Leeds holds the longest running West Indian Carnival in Europe, starting in the 1960s. This year so happens to be the 50th anniversary of the carnival. Last year, the carnival attracted 160,000 visitors and is significant for the West Indian community. The poster could help promote the anniversary as well as be a way to help shift the limelight from the famous Notting Hill carnival in London. The poster will inevitably become a vibrant representation of the carnival's explosion of colour, amazing costumes, rhythms and atmosphere.
Headingley
Leeds' Headingley stadium is home to the Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds Rhino Rugby league and Leeds Carnegie rugby union. Thousands flock to the stadium to view the games and it has become famous especially with cricket, where international tests are usually played.
Its significance to Leeds is that is a ground that helps develop the sporting quality of Leeds' teams and promotes a sporting culture among the youth because of its reputation as a stadium.
The poster could celebrate the sporting milestones Headingley has seen and celebrate its reputation as a ground.
