For the interim crit, I presented my two ideas of partiality and the American Horror Story influenced typeface. I did not progress with the idea of creating an ambiguous typeface because it did not align with my intial manifesto.
There were comments on the research I did onto the creation of the typeface and the interpretations of the word mysterious. Seeing how far I could take the idea and experiment with partiality.
People were drawn more towards the idea of the partial typeface because of its versatility and being able to see it used in the entertainment industry where I based my research on the type. They agreed that the partiality exude mystery in its ambiguity, utilising the negative space and how the letter forms link to one another. It makes the reader have to almost guess the letter.
For the AHS typeface, people liked the idea of seeing double and saw the association I made from the aspects I took from the American Horror Story type.
My next step is to refine the typeface, making it more coherent across the letter forms and to place it onto context since the purpose of this type is for display.
