Kern Down

In effort to better understand about kerning and to see what effect it has on a company's image, Simon proceeded to change the game Countdown to Kerndown. Where we go against the clock to come up with different variations of the same word to represent the given company. Out of the given letter forms we were given, A m g a s, we chose A and m to represent them.
This is our iteration of an all day breakfast cafe, "Am" being a reference to a.m. and hence having breakfast in the morning. The close kerning is to replicate how a.m. would be usually written.
mA is a electrical company, mA being the symbol for milli amps. The close kerning makes it easy for the name to be turned into a logo for the company.
m   A    is our idea of a high fashion label. m A being the initials of the fashion designer and the large kerning representing the left out words in his name.

Next, we played a quick fire round playing around with the letters a g s.
A pest control company
 A nightclub. "lets get gassed at g a s"
A luxury car manufacturer. Even spacing gives shows off each individual letter.
A new Quentin Tarantino film. The increasing kerning and backwards "a" hints at a mysterious plot.
