These are just some quick sketches of the ideas I explained in my previous post. I thought Caro's sculptures lend themselves well to the creation of the letter forms. Especially with the top left as it already resembled a P.
Initially what I found difficult was trying to get my own Caro designs to work as a letter. They didn't look as aesthetically pleasing or well balanced as I wanted to so I decided to based all of my shapes on Caro's original sculpture. What turned out was a design that was simpler for each letter and because it was present in the P, all the letter forms looked more coherent.
The second set of logos uses the idyllic landscape Yorkshire is known for. By turning them into simple shapes it keeps with the minimal design of the logo while explaining to the reader that they are an outdoor gallery.
Lastly are a couple of logos done with Henry Moore's sculptures. The oddly shaped free forming work proved a challenge as it did not lend itself to the contemporary designs of Caro. It did not sit well with the original circle background. Therefore to contrast the curves of his work, the border is rectangular, implying that it could be used as a business card.
