Atelier Brancusi

A visit to L'Atelier Brancusi provided good insight into how important it is to view sculptures in their space. As much as it is valuable to view his work in books, the 3 dimensional element is lost in the images. His sculptures become much more impressionable when occupying the physical space.

This is significant considering that Brancusi's studio symbolised how he valued the importance of spatial consideration when viewing sculpture.

The arrangement of his sculptures are purposeful and in close relation, which in turn he called 'mobile groups', "stressing the importance of the connections between the works themselves and the possibilities of each for moving around within the group".
