2nd Test Print

Changes have been made to the publication stock choices since the first test print.

An off white, less recycled stock has been used to produce a more mature and professional feel for the content pages. The finish is smoother and doesn't darken or saturate the images of the sculptures. This becomes evident seen below.

The colours of Noguchi's Positional Shape are a lot brighter and truer to the actual sculpture when printed on the new stock. Having an accurate representation of Noguchi's sculptures in the publication provides a better reading experience that immerses the reader into the content. When looked closely, t
he outlines of the sculptures as well have been cleaned up.

The sequence of inside pages have been changed to provide a visual introduction and a varied tactility prior to reading the content pages. Blue is done away as it does not fully relate to Noguchi's sculptures. Earthier tones are chosen that better reflects the look and feel of his sculptures, which also relate to his utilising of natural materials.

The grid system used so far however does not work succinctly with the content. Only in a double page spread such as in Fig. 1 does the copy's positioning work. In pages such as Fig. 2, 3 and 4, the copy is too far aligned to either side to the page in comparison to the content does it look out of place. The placement of the typographic sculptures as well are too far from the copy to create an aesthetically pleasing reading experience. As a result the existing grid system of a 4x6 is changed to a 6x6.

The proportions of the copy now sit evenly with the placement of the typographic and Noguchi's sculptures.

*selected pages were printed on for the second test print so as to just get an idea of the feel of the publication.
