As a way to work around the inability to use the grey board as the cover, the laser cut mount board type was used. This actually faired better than using the grey board as it gives the reader more of an insight towards the processes used in the publications design. Furthermore, because the mount board does not entirely cover the design, it gives the publication an exposed content look similar to those works of 'trendy design'.
These mount bound letterforms of each letter of Univers is added in throughout the publication which livens the reading experience. Setting it this way gives the publication the stability initially intended from the grey board. So this new cover design is a definite improvement.
